Caring for patients after cancer treatment

Among the highlights of the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018 will be the BDA Theatre, where an array of world-class speakers will share their expertise in a range of topics.
Mark Singh will present a session entitled “Your role in patient management after treatment for oral cancer” on Saturday 19th May.
“This group of patients experiences significant side effects following treatment for cancer, which impact on their quality of life and rehabilitation. There is apprehension in primary care as to how we can manage this group of patients effectively.
“Despite this being a challenging group of patients to treat, the majority of care can be delivered in the primary care setting. For the dental team, care should be offered before, during and after cancer treatment.
“My lecture will consider the different oral health issues that cancer patients can face and how dental professionals can support them. I hope to help delegates understand the various treatments, side effects and ways to manage them.”
