This is the reason why Jonathan Hughes, Clinical Dental Technician (CDT) and Dental Surgeon, Craig Parker have been asked to co-present a lecture called “Ultaire™ AKP: RPD Design Concepts & Applications, One Year On…” at the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) 2018.
Last year at the Digital and Innovation Theatre the enthusiastic duo brought a ‘breath of fresh air’ to the showcase with an uplifting presentation as part of the launch of Ultaire™ AKP. This year they are back again to bring inspiration to all members of the dental team. On behalf of Solvay Dental 360™, Jonathan and Craig plan to demonstrate the modern ethos of collective clinical and technical study, teamwork and communication in order to drive dentistry forward in a positive, progressive manner.
Together, these highly qualified professionals plan to cover design concepts and procedures using Ultaire™ AKP, case selection, applications and limitations, as well as progression towards a fully digital removable partial denture. Developed exclusively to meet high-performance requirements of the dental industry and surpassing the standards of current materials available in the market, Ultaire™ AKP is supplied as a Dentivera™ milling disc that allows laboratories to work faster, smarter and more cost effectively, whilst using their existing software, equipment and staff.
Ultaire™ AKP is an exciting new alternative to metal RPDs and more interestingly, frames made from Ultaire™ AKP dissipate energy across the whole framework so that point loading and uneven force is avoided, which could help to limit bone loss. Other advantages to consider are:

Ultaire™ AKP is available to all laboratories, including those who are not currently using CAD/CAM technology. There is a cost-effective outsourced design and milling solution along with technical support, all based in the UK. Committed to supporting dental laboratories and dentists with education, marketing and technical help, Solvay has its own university where labs that already design and mill in-house can access an online training portal. Support and feedback is given on initial designs ensuring that frames are produced within specification and advice on milling strategies is also available if necessary. Once the course is complete these labs can download and import a DME to work within their own software platform for the easy and streamlined integration of Ultaire™ AKP. Solvay Dental 360™ also run digital design courses for technicians, which are suitable for those that currently use CAD/CAM for RPDs or crown and bridge work, as well as those that are thinking of investing in the technology.
