Regardless of their role in the practice, their experience or their interests, the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2019 provided all dental professionals with first-class learning and networking opportunities.

The two-day educational programme catered to all members of the dental team, with dedicated programmes for dentists, dental hygienists and therapists, dental nurses and practice managers. There were sessions tailored to those operating in the different disciplines, including orthodontics, endodontics, implant dentistry and periodontology, as well as the dedicated Dental Business Theatre and Business Skills Workshops.

Particularly popular was the BDA Theatre, where both members and non-members of the BDA were able to hear from outstanding lecturers and gain a plethora of practical tips and information. The collaboration between the BDA and CloserStill Media was one of the many highlights of the event, as delegate Dr Rob Pickering highlighted:

“This was the first time I’ve attended the event since the BDA collaboration and I think it was a really good idea. It’s been great to have so much CPD alongside the trade show.”

Delegates had the chance to gain up to 14 hours of enhanced CPD, tailoring their learning experience according to their individual needs and practice requirements. World-class speakers came together from abroad and here in the UK, with all demonstrating their extensive experience and sharing their expertise to provide delegates with useful insights into the very latest products, techniques and technologies.

Running alongside the many lectures was a trade floor with more than 450 dental manufacturers and suppliers. On-stand learning provided additional opportunities to gain skills and try out new innovations, so delegates could seek bespoke information and guidance on the products and equipment they were interested in purchasing.

Feedback from delegates attending the event has so far been fantastic. Here is a selection of comments received:

Craig Yip, associate dentist from Warrington Smile Clinic, commented:

“This is one of the biggest dental events of the year, with all the big brands and manufacturers together in one central hub. If you need something, it will be here!”

Kat Ryan, dentist from The Forum Dental Studio said:

“It has been a great event and I’ve really enjoyed it. The lectures have offered good information on marketing, periodontology and restorative dentistry, plus I have been able to browse the exhibition. This was the first time I attended and I can’t believe it was free!”

Raajun Kaur from the Portsmouth Dental Teaching Unit, said:

“Really good variety of talks covering a wide range of topics. There’s something for everyone from dental students to established dentists.”

Dena Gardner, practice manager of Whole Tooth Dental Practice commented:

“It’s been very informative with a lot of good content in a short space of time. I have really enjoyed it.”

Melissa Chase, dental nurse from Sherwood House Dental Practice added:

“Extremely helpful staff all-round. The services and information given from the stands and lectures have helped me with understanding things in different perspectives and taught me new things. I can’t wait to learn more next year!”

Jo Dawson, oral health educator from Devonshire House Dental Practice commented:

“The British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show is a great place to learn, network, find answers, meet with old friends and current colleagues, and discover new products.”

Aside from the education and discovery throughout the lecture programme and exhibition, the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show also provided the perfect platform for networking. Thousands of professionals from all walks of dentistry were welcomed through the doors, enabling people to meet old friends and new.
