No ‘i’ in ‘team’

Over the past year, Colosseum Dental has invested heavily in the refurbishment of all its practices across the UK. Its aim has been to ensure that all its clinical teams have the facilities they need to deliver exceptional patient care. In doing so, the clinics also now provide a more welcoming and modern environment that optimises the patient experience.

In order to achieve the best results, practice managers and their teams have been involved in the refurbishment process for their clinics. Their feedback and ideas were invaluable in ensuring that the redesigns met the team’s and their patients’ needs.

Gemma Hales is a multi-site practice manager with Colosseum Dental, overseeing the Sheerness and Maidstone clinics. She reflects on the refurbishment process of the Maidstone Dental Clinic:

“The previous state of the building was extremely poor and this would reflect in our comments book/feedback from patients. We would actually receive complaints from the neighbourhood that it brought the look and standard of the road down.

“Every person pulled together as a team for the refurbishment and it worked extremely well to combine all our strengths. We were able to alter things to benefit both the practice and our patients during the refurb project. For example, we decided to fix mirrors to the walls and order more chairs for the surgeries to allow for families to attend appointments at the same time. We also added flowers in the front and back of the practice to make it look more presentable.“

Having made some significant changes in the last 12 months, Colosseum Dental is keen to communicate its ethos of collaboration, care and entrepreneurship among all its practice teams. Gemma adds: 

“With all the recent changes, I can clearly see the direction and morale of our owners and it really is a great place to work. We place collaboration at the heart of everything we do.
