Kent Express Dental Supplies hosts beach clean-up volunteer day

Team members from Kent Express Dental Supplies, one of the UK’s leading mail order dental suppliers, recently held a beach clean-up day at Margate Beach. In an effort to help keep Britain’s beaches clean and the ocean safe for wildlife, the team came together with rubbish bags, trash pickers, and gloves to remove debris and plastic along the shoreline.

According to the Ocean Conservancy, every year, 11 million metric tons of plastics enter the ocean on top of the estimated 200 million metric tons that currently circulate marine environments1. Not only can marine debris injure or kill marine and coastal wildlife, but it also can cause economic losses and the loss of biodiversity and of ecosystem functions and services as indicated by the United Nations Environment Programme2.

“It is imperative that we each do our part to help the environment in any way we can, especially for the future of our planet,” said Paula Elgar, Sales Manager, Kent Express Dental Supplies. “At Kent Express, we are committed to helping address climate change, reduce our environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices both at work and in our daily lives. This initiative is just one example of our team’s efforts to help protect the Earth.”

In addition to the team’s environmental efforts in the local community, Kent Express Dental Supplies is dedicated to continuously improving its ‘green’ credentials. For example, in 2022, the company received ISO 14001 certification. The ISO certification confirmed that Kent Express Dental Supplies has ISO-certified environmental management systems established to identify, manage, monitor, and control its environmental impact.
