Walk from Home this Autumn to raise awareness of Mouth Cancer
NewsPosted by: Dental Design 6th October 2023
The 18th annual Mouth Cancer 10KM Awareness Walk took place on Saturday 23rd September 2023 in Hyde Park, London. More than 300 people travelled from all over the UK to take part in the walk and help raise awareness of mouth cancer. Walkers of all ages turned out to support the Mouth Cancer Foundation, as well as volunteers who worked enthusiastically and tirelessly to help make the event an incredible success.
There were numerous sponsors of the event including Fit-Lip, which with the help of Malibu Sun, contributed a flyer and SPF lip balm. The lip balm was perfect: essential for protecting the walker’s lips during the lovely sunny day as the UV rays were out in force!
The Walk kicked off the ‘Walk from Home’ event. If you would consider participating and walking a 10K in the ‘Walk from Home’ challenge, the Mouth Cancer Foundation is encouraging as many people as possible to step out and make a difference between Sunday 1st October and Thursday 30th November 2023.
You can walk as many times as you like on your own or with your family and pets in your locality from the comfort of your own home. It is a wonderful team building exercise but whether you are walking on your own or as part of a group you will be supporting an amazing charity, and it is especially applicable during November as that is mouth Cancer Action Month. So, get your walking boots on because in the words of Nancy Sinatra, ‘these boots were made for walking…’
